Description
A quick and healthy stir-fry featuring tender chicken, crisp cabbage, and a savory sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
1 medium onion, sliced
1 pound chicken breast, diced
2 cups cabbage, chopped
1 carrot, julienned
1 red bell pepper, sliced
2 green onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp ginger, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Wash and chop all vegetables. Dice the chicken breast.
Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken broth or water, and cornstarch in a bowl.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or wok. Cook chicken with salt and pepper for 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Add remaining oil. Stir-fry onion, garlic, and ginger for 1 minute. Add carrot, cabbage, and bell pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes.
Return chicken to skillet. Add sauce. Cook 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
Drizzle sesame oil if using. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
Notes
You can swap chicken for tofu or shrimp and add extra vegetables as desired.
