Description

A fun, fizzy beach-themed science experiment where kids build and dissolve sandcastles using baking soda, vinegar, and colorful ingredients. Great for STEM learning and sensory play!

Ingredients

1 to 3 boxes baking soda

Water (just enough to form a moldable texture)

1 or more cups vinegar

Blue food coloring (for ocean effect)

1 to 3 teaspoons clear dish soap (for extra fizz)

Molds (cups, bowls, sandcastle molds)

Plastic sea creatures, shells, or small toys (optional)

Instructions

Make the Sandcastles: Mix baking soda with water until it feels like wet sand. Press into molds. Freeze for 30 minutes if desired.

Set the Scene: Place on a tray and decorate with toys.

Make the Fizz Potion: Mix vinegar, food coloring, and dish soap in a cup.

Fizz Time: Pour the colored vinegar over the sandcastles and watch them bubble and melt!

Notes

Try different colors or add glitter for extra fun. Use a tray or outdoor setting for easier cleanup.
