Description
A swirling galaxy in a jar—this DIY glitter jar isn’t just pretty, it’s a powerful tool to help kids slow down, breathe deep, and regain calm when emotions run wild.
Ingredients
1 clear glass or plastic jar with a tight-fitting lid
1/2 cup glitter glue (or clear glue)
1/2 cup distilled water (plus extra for filling)
1/2–2 teaspoons loose glitter (your color choice!)
Hot glue gun (to seal the lid)
Instructions
Pour 1/2 cup of distilled water into the jar. Add 1/2 cup of glitter glue and stir well.
Add 1/2–2 teaspoons of loose glitter, choosing fine or chunky depending on desired effect.
Top off the jar with more distilled water, leaving a small space at the top.
Use a hot glue gun to seal the inside rim of the lid, then screw it on tightly.
Shake the jar and watch the glitter swirl and settle.
Use it as a calming tool by watching the glitter settle while taking slow breaths.
Notes
Try using calming colors like blue and purple, or energizing ones like gold and red. Great for emotional regulation breaks at home or in the classroom.
