Description
Soft, fluffy muffins coated in buttery cinnamon sugar, just like Grandma’s homemade donuts.
Ingredients
– 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
– ½ cup granulated sugar
– 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– ½ teaspoon baking soda
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ¾ cup milk (or up to 1 cup if batter seems too thick)
– ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1 large egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– ¼ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
– 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon (for topping)
– 2 tablespoons melted butter (for dipping)
Instructions
- – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.
- – Whisk flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- – In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
- – Combine wet and dry ingredients. Add extra milk if batter is too thick.
- – Fill muffin cups ¾ full and bake for 18–20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- – While warm, dip muffin tops in melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
