Create a glowing underwater world in a mason jar using glowing pigment, colored water, and ocean-themed miniatures. A magical DIY for both kids and adults.
Ingredients
1 clear mason jar with lid
Water (fill 3/4 of the jar)
A few drops of blue food coloring
Glow-in-the-dark paint or glowing pigment (non-toxic)
Small plastic ocean animals or seashells
Glitter (optional, for a shimmering sea effect)
Glycerin or clear hair gel (to slow down motion)
Instructions
Gather all your supplies.
Mix water with blue food coloring in a separate bowl until the desired ocean color is reached.
Add glitter to the mixture if desired for extra sparkle.
Stir in non-toxic glow-in-the-dark pigment or paint thoroughly.
Place small plastic ocean animals or seashells into the mason jar.
Slowly pour the colored, glowing water into the jar, leaving some space at the top.
Add a spoonful of glycerin or clear hair gel to help slow the movement.
Seal the jar tightly with the lid.
Shake gently to distribute contents evenly.
Charge in direct light, turn off the lights, and enjoy the glow!
Notes
Customize the scene with decorative marbles, faux seaweed, or experiment with different colors for unique effects.
